Victoria Falls – The Smoke that Thunders

Scottish explorer/missionary David Livingstone was the first white man to discover this natural wonder. It was 1855. He named the majestic waterfall in honor of his Queen, Victoria. He did not realize at that time that it had already been named by an indigenous tribe Mosi Oa Tunya: “The Smoke That Thunders. And thunder it does, even in the low water season.
