Amritsar is Punjab’s largest city. As the holy city of the Sikhs, every Sikh is required to visit at least once in their lives. Amritsar is the home of the Golden Temple (built in 1589 thru 1601) and Jallianwalla Bagh, the site of the one of the worst atrocities committed by the British during its colonial period. The Golden Temple is built in the middle of lake Amrit Sarovar.
