Today visited the Vasa Museum (The Vasa Museum) – incredible story of what one man can do. The Vasa was a warship that sank on her maiden voyage in Stockholm 1628 and was salvaged in 1961. It’s the only preserved 17th century ship in the world. One scientist made it his life’s work to find her and bring her back. The ship is wholly contained in the museum – an amazing site.
Also went to the City Hall where the Nobel winners receive their prizes and dance in the Golden Hall.
Finally, went to the Östermalm Food Hall or Saluhall (www.ostermalmshallen.se/en/) and saw its amazing array of fish, meat, poultry, bread, pastries, cheese and produce. It seemed very familiar.
